01 / THE STORY

A personal move.
A long-term commitment.

He came to build.
He stayed to live.

After developing homes on Mallorca, Hanno Strack moved with his family to Grand Bahama. Today, the island is both his home and the focus of Bahamas Homes.

His earlier experience spans approximately 100 homes on Mallorca, as described in published interviews. The new chapter combines contemporary residential design with beachfront and canalfront settings—and the practical work of building on an island.

The current collection ranges from Royal Palm Beach studios to substantial homes at Sunny Beach, Princess Isle and Fortune Cay. It brings together his own developments and selected client and partner properties, across completed, construction and off-plan stages.

Strack reports eight houses and villas scheduled for completion in 2026, further homes under construction and additional projects in planning. His emphasis is on working with local businesses and turning a long-term belief in Grand Bahama into buildings people can visit.

03 / GRAND BAHAMA IN FOCUS

An island in motion.
A story worth following.

Primary sources.
Clear project stages.

On 21 October 2026, Prime Minister Philip Davis outlined a proposed new framework for Grand Bahama. Alongside the reform debate, airport, harbour, hospitality and industrial projects are changing the island’s development landscape.

For journalists, the residential question is what comes next: how these programmes affect people who live, work and build here. Hanno’s projects offer a practical place to begin that reporting.

FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA — 22 October 2026 — As Grand Bahama enters a new period of infrastructure investment and proposed governance reform, Bahamas Homes Development is presenting a residential collection spanning 18 offerings, from USD 499,000 studios to USD 10.99 million waterfront homes. Founder Hanno Strack says eight houses and villas are scheduled for completion this year, with further homes already under construction and additional projects in planning.

The portfolio brings together beachfront studios, garden villas, canalfront duplex homes and substantial private residences. It includes Royal Palm Beach, Beach Residences, the Coral Road collection, Sunny Beach Residences and its Garden and Ocean Villas, Princess Isle, and Fortune Cay. Own developments sit alongside selected client and partner properties marketed under the Bahamas Homes brand.

For Strack, Grand Bahama is both a place to build and a place to live. The German developer moved to the island with his family following a career developing homes on Mallorca. His earlier track record of approximately 100 Mallorca homes is described in published interviews; contemporary villas, pool terraces and Mediterranean architecture from that period form part of his photographic archive.

His commitment predates the latest announcement. The Tribune reported on Beach Residences and the Coral Villas in August 2026, describing new waterfront housing entering the Grand Bahama market. A video tour by Victoria and Rico of NautiStyles / NautiGuys offers another view of the waterfront-home experience, while Strack has discussed Freeport’s development with Grand Bahama Port Authority Chief Investment Officer Derek Newbold in a Willi-pedia interview.

On 21 October, Prime Minister Philip Davis set out a proposed new governance framework for Grand Bahama and outlined airport, harbour and resort priorities. His address described a new airport terminal in design, an approved USD 400 million MSC cruise-terminal investment and redevelopment at the Grand Lucayan. These programmes are at different stages; the proposed governance reforms remain subject to the legislative and consultation process.

The wider economic story extends beyond tourism. Grand Bahama Shipyard reported the first successful docking at its newly commissioned East End dock in February 2026, a milestone in its USD 600 million redevelopment programme. Concord Wilshire separately lists a USD 827 million development budget for the Grand Lucayan resort programme. These are third-party programmes, not Bahamas Homes investments; the figures should not be added together without checking their scope and potential overlap.

Against this backdrop, Strack sees an opportunity to connect European residential design experience with the realities of island construction and waterfront living. His approach emphasises collaboration with local businesses. For journalists, the story can be explored through interviews, project visits, construction photographs, completed-home viewings where available and the contrast between his Mallorca work and current Grand Bahama projects.
